Extending a product without editing its core

Editing a product's core files makes updates painful: every update overwrites your changes. Our products are built to be extended instead.

• Extensions add whole features with their own tables, settings and menus.
• Hooks let custom code add menu items, homepage sections or change values at defined points.
• Settings cover most changes people make by hand.

If you need a change that none of these allow, tell us. It often becomes a setting in the next release.
