Dark mode is no longer a novelty; many people keep their phone in dark mode all day. Doing it well means more than inverting colours.
Define colours as named tokens such as background, surface, text and border, and give each a light and a dark value. Keep enough contrast in both. Let the visitor switch, remember the choice, and follow the device setting by default. Our products include a theme switch in the header for exactly this reason.
